Samoa Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND)

City Planning has released an MND for the proposed Samoa Project. According to CD2 planning deputy Karo Torossian, the application was deemed complete on 10-11-11 and the MND issued same day. This is not an approval of the project, just the process it goes through before getting approval. Between the release date of 10-11-11 and 11-2-11 is the time when the community can weigh in and respond to items in the MND that they want responses to or changes made in what the application is proposing. The STNC's Samoa Sub-Committee is working to prepare a response to the MND for the LUC and STNC to review and submit on behalf of the STNC. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to submit comments.

The next Samoa Sub-Committee meeting will be Monday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at North Valley City Hall. Link to the MND is to the right ------------------------------>

Both the Ad-hoc committee and the Land Use Committee have approved a letter to Mr. Michael LoGrande, Director of City Planning regarding the irregularities in the Samoa Apartments application. Samoa Project Application Received by STNC

The STNC has now received the ~~complete~~ Master Land Use Application for the Samoa Project. The application can be read and downloaded by following the link in the column on the right of this page.

UPDATE: We have been informed that the application copy we received may not be considered "complete" by the City Planning Department. This means that the STNC will be checking back with City Planning for any updates. The applicant's representative has also been contacted and invited to present the proposal at a future Land Use Committee (LUC) meeting once the application is truly "complete".

Application Filed at City Planning for a 64 unit Affordable Housing Project at 10046-56 Samoa Avenue.

The STNC's Land Use Committee has formed an Ad-Hoc Committee to research the application as filed by the applicant.

The STNC has not yet received its copy of the application. It is being held at City Planning until complete. Check back here for updates, meetings, how to get involved.
